Throughout the practicum trip, we gained invaluable lessons in teamwork and collaboration. One of the most important realizations was the significance of effective task division, which ensured the smooth execution of all activities. Each group member was assigned specific responsibilities, ranging from drafting and sending formal letters to lecturers for class observations and micro-teaching sessions, to selecting and designing PowerPoint templates for our workshop presentation and even preparing small tokens of appreciation for our lecturers. This clear delegation of tasks not only saved time but also helped prevent individual overload, allowing us to work more efficiently and cohesively as a team.

While working in a group naturally involved moments of disagreement and differing perspectives, we learned to prioritize the collective goal over individual preferences. This experience significantly enhanced our collaborative skills, which are increasingly recognized as essential competencies in 21st-century workplaces. We also had opportunities to sharpen our critical thinking skills through peer evaluation sessions, where we provided constructive feedback on each other’s lesson plans and teaching rehearsals. Recognizing the value of peer input was instrumental to our professional development, helping us reflect more deeply on our pedagogical decisions.

 

Beyond academic and professional growth, we also enjoyed moments of relaxation and bonding, which reminded us of the importance of balance in maintaining productivity and mental well-being. These shared experiences not only strengthened our teamwork but also created lasting memories that we will carry forward in our M.A. journey.

In summary, this practicum was not only an academic endeavor but also a formative experience in team dynamics, mutual support and personal growth. We are grateful for the opportunity to work collaboratively, assist one another and learn from each other's strengths, all of which are experiences that will continue to shape our path as future TESOL professionals.
